"50 Little White Lies"

If you have a hard time like I do with fibbing, or “Compassionate Misinformation,” here’s a

great example I happened to run across the other day while watching an old 1978 episode of M*A*S*H.

The 4077th pharmacy had completely run out of pain medication.  Potter comes up with the idea of dispensing sugar pills, a placebo, calling them “50 Little White Lies.” They were counting on the power of the psychological effect these little pills would have on the patients. With convincing compassion, the doctors fibbed their way into dispensing the placebo to the recovering soldiers in pain.  It worked.  Every one of them calmed down and drifted off to sleep.

What Is True For Me

If you recruit “Compassionate Misinformation” responsibly with benevolence and consideration, your moral compass will stay the course and your loved one will be kept safe, calm and happy.
